Authentic, emotional and haunting, the German-Israeli co-production tells how young Israelis are brought closer to the Holocaust on the so-called “Journey to Poland”.
They travel for a week to the places where their ancestors were murdered. Many of them document their experiences and intimate thoughts but also the exuberant moments of the class trip in YouTube videos.
The directors Sagi Bornstein and Udi Nir manage to take a stirring look at how the fourth generation deals with the Holocaust. The filmmakers sifted through thousands of hours of footage and edited the first documentary film that consists of entirely of YouTube footage.
